Perennial rival Owen came to Avery for the first conference game of the 2010 season. Always a tough opponent, Owen entered ranked 12th in the 2A polls. Avery was ranked 8th in the 1A polls. Both teams had played hard in their games the night before. Unfortunately, Avery came up short and lost 2-0.
